Default Anti Seize Lubricant for Lug Nuts

Does anyone know if you should use any anti-seize lubricant when replacing lug nuts on your tires? I have the tires off now and want to make sure I can get them off again if necessary. I do plan to torque the bolts per the manual.

You almost answered your own question: torque. If you torque them properly you won't have any problems removing the lug nuts. And you'll be surprised how little torque they need. You'll over-torque if you lubricate.

Prevents corrosion & reduces chance of damaging threads. Also easier to install lugnuts. Torque spec should be reduced 5%-10% due to the reduced friction

I have never put lube on lug nuts before but wouldnt this cause the lug nuts to fall off easier when the car is moving? Not a good idea if your wheels fall off on the highway.

How difficult is it to install lug nuts to begin with that you need to put anti-seize on them?

I do sometimes put a little anti-seize on the wheel hub so the rim doesn't stick to the hub, but that's about it.

From the GS owner's manual:

Failure to follow these precautions could cause the wheel nuts to loosen and the tire
to fall off, resulting in death or serious injury.
• Never use oil or grease on the wheel bolts or wheel nuts.
Oil and grease may cause the wheel nuts to be excessively tightened, leading to
bolt or disc wheel damage. In addition, the oil or grease can cause the wheel nuts
to loosen and the wheel may fall off, causing a serious accident. Remove any oil or
grease from the wheel bolts or wheel nuts.
• Have the wheel nuts tightened with a torque wrench to 76 ft•lbf (103 N•m,
10.5 kgf•m) as soon as possible after changing wheels.
• When installing a tire, only use wheel nuts that have been specifically designed for
that wheel.
• If there are any cracks or deformations in the bolt screws, nut threads or bolt holes
of the wheel, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

Depends on whether or not they are lubricated, I install mine by hand to prevent cross threading.
