13-15 GS looking outdated?

I recently purchased a 2015 GS 350 F-Sport - Atomic Silver as I personally prefer the look of the 13-15's. The 16+ is still growing on me. The 13-15 GS 350 is one great looking car and will age very well over the years.

I was watching the market thru cargurus.com for a while, and when a low mile 2015, NG, with Cab interior and ML came up about 5 miles away from my work, I couldn't resist checking it out (even though I wasn't suppose to buy a new car until mid 2017). I found the car on a Friday, took my wife to check it out on Saturday, the place was closed Sunday and I called in Monday morning to tell him I was coming in after work to do the deal. My trade-in / buying experience was really great - www.autocentrix.com in Carrollton,TX.

Yup, in Dallas. I was also wanting dynamic rear steering and HUD, but in the end decided that the right color combo F sport with ML was really all that I needed. Plus, I was really getting itchy fingers to pull the trigger and get into a new car. I think I bought my car at the right time, the dealer mentioned that during the last few months of the year nationwide car prices are at a low, and starting January the start rising again. Seems legit, I can't find my car with the same options, similar miles for near the amount I paid for it right now. He gave me a really reasonable trade-in value for my 2008 IS350 even though it had 170k miles.

I prefer the13-15 front and rear fascias, but the new look is growing on me. I am eagerly anticipating the next re-design of the GS. I am guessing that is 3 years away. I think if the designers start with a clean slate then the elements like the spindle grill work better....I like the new LS both inside and out. I really want the next GS-F, but I imagine that is going to be even more than 3 years away. Long wait.

My thoughts exactly LOL. I for one are not trying to play "keeping up with the Joneses", because when the new release comes out in 2020, you'll be right back here saying asking the same question about the 16-19. I love the way my 15 looks.

The car was in mint condition and was real fresh...for someone who may not know, that '09 GS460 could've been mistaken for a brand new car. It made me appreciate how the GS's simply have aged quite well through every generational refresh.

Wouldn't say it looks outdated per se IMO. The 13-15 looks a bit more "typical" or "classy" and the 16+ looks a bit more "futuristic" and "stands out"
Although I do like the 16+ designs, I think that both models look very sharp, as long as the 13-15 is also in good condition and cared for (i.e. paint buffed, esp for darker colors, waxed, wheels cleaned, etc)
Also, the GS is really not a popular model, and even in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, where the mean income in many areas easily exceeds $100k, there are not that many GS's out there. That definitely helps with making the 13-15 not look so dated. If the GS was as popular as say a 13-15 Acura RDX vs 16+ RDX, then I'd probably feel differently lol
