Default Got my ride, couple of questions

Just had my GS350 delivered last night. Now currently I have a 5 series with a straight 6 and a ls430 which have overall quiet engines. First thing I noticed when I checked it out is how loud the engine seems, and how it has a "rattle" near the left rear of the engine. I'm not sure exactly what part it is specifically. I found a video that sounds exactly like mine, is this the expected sound from these engines?

I saw some threads and it seems that they may be known to be louder compared to the LS430 which runs so quiet. I just wanted to confirm if that video is what you guys expect when you hear these engines. I can try to take one of my car later but it sounds dead on like that. Also have someone of a burning rubber smell from outside of the car. The tires on the car on in horrible shape, I don't know if that could cause any rubbing. Its stock wheels with AWD. For the very little time I drove it, it felt like an amazing car. Will AWD have a different feel during steering as well? Thanks in advance, can't wait to start modding it. Already got a Apex Accel on the way. The tires I think are original to the car, they have a 2012 date which is scary seeing as the car has 59k miles! Theres really bad tire wear on the outside too. I'll probably go with the P7 tires and an allignment after asap.

I used to have an e60 550i and when i took the engine cover off, you could hear a loud ticking from the valvetronic solenoids... it freaked me out at first as I was doing a bunch of maintenance on it. after the cover was put back on, noise was gone.

Man I'm so happy so far in the little time I've driven this thing. I used to be into the old maximas when I was younger, I loved the sports sedan but wasn't a fan of the fwd. This car is exactly what I wanted in a car, the engine is just right in power, it sounds absolutely amazing to me. Comfort and interior are dead on, feel and everything. Can't wait to see how it is on safe tires and a proper alignment.

Ticking? It's about to EXPLODE!
It's normal, this has been discussed several times before.

The GS drives and feels more like the E60 than the F10 does so if you were happy with the E60 then you'll love the GS especially in Sport mode.

The engine noise has been fairly well discussed, it's the D-4S direct injetion.

Might as well warn you, there are other sounds. When you come back to the garage a few hours after parking the car, you may hear a buzzing sound from the fuel vapor leak detector.
When you open the throttle, you'll hear the sound generator. If you like quiet, it's an easy mod to remove.
When you open the sunshade at highway speeds, you may hear wind noise from the sunroof. Some folks seem to have it, some don't.

As for the tires, sounds like you're already on top of that.

Sweet I used to have E60 aswell as F10 I have found the GS to be very solid and stable actually boring at times if you have the premium or Luxury package.F Sports keeps it interesting with the aggressive styling. So which one did u get what options any pictures.
