I don't bother with Navi on the vehicle. I have Nuvi GPS unit with life time update option which I use if I need it. When there is an update I get email from Nuvi. I plug the unit
into a PC, download the update.

I live in a quickly changing place, from a road infrastructure point of view (DC/MD/VA). With maps that were 4 years old, it was worth it for me. I just wish mine were the SD type, instead of a dealer flash.
