Yep. It's been sitting for a few days now. I haven't had any reason to drive it recently. I'll see if it starts up today with the new battery.

Hello guys I'm new to this forum, and it's funny cause they had the same issues at Infiniti. I just traded my 2011 M37 in for the 2014 GS F-Sport I doesn't look like mine falls in that VIN range and I don't drive my car every day I'm hopping I don't start having this issue.

Does anyone know where this part is in the vehicle so I can replace it myself? I came out to my GS again after starting up just fine after one day and it was completely dead.

Any diagrams or general locations would be great.

In January 2016, my GS wouldn't start after sitting for several days. I got it started and took it in to find out the battery was bad already and they changed it.

Flash forward to a few months ago. Same issue, but I started it up and carried on. Didn't bring it to my dealer.

Then yesterday, the same thing. Haven't driven it between Monday and Thursday and viola! Click, click, click when I try to start. I put the charger on for a while and got it to start. Took it to the dealer and they tell me the battery tests fine. However, was told that with "newer cars, if you don't drive them enough (I bought mine in May 2012 and have only 34k miles, so far) the battery drains because of the modules within the vehicle that draw voltage from the battery. If this happens often enough, the battery will drain to the point where the car won't start."

Talked to an independent mechanic I know and he suggested that it is a parasitic drain on the battery from a module probably. To pinpoint where the drain is coming from, a mechanic needs to sit on the issue and watch it with meters. I do have a remote starter that I notice has a blue light on it that is lit all the time, but is that enough to cause this? I looked up a video on YouTube and found that I can do this myself through the process of elimination by using an ammeter and pulling fuses. I would have thought the dealer's mechanic would know this. Or maybe it costs them too much labor to figure it out?

The dealer suggested that when I drive my car, I should hook up a charger at night so the battery will be 100% charged by morning. Really? I have a luxury car that they are suggesting that I should open my hood and charge the battery up at night? Why doesn't that feel right to me? Why didn't this thing happen a couple years ago?

Any ideas or suggestions are helpful.
same problem here with my 2008 gs 350 I've brought it to the dealer 4 time in the last 2 months at least once a week when I go to start my car in the morning it didn't start and I keep telling the Lexus dealer that there's a drain in the battery but they keep telling me that they can't find the problem I'm getting fed up

FWIW i leave my GS idle in a garage 2-4 weeks at a time in winter and it never fails to start.. The BS some dealers spout about this issue is obnoxious.

Yeah I've left my car parts for a month before and starts up no problem. If you have a healthy battery sitting around for a long time is not an issue, no need for a battery tender either.

Do you have the original 12v battery in the trunk? If you do it's time to replace it, 5 years old at least and at the end of it's life.

Yes that battery is on it's way out, needs to be replaced. That will fix your problem. I had to replace the 12v battery on my 450h when it was 5-6 years old.

It sound crazy that in the summer no problem at all. Now is in The Netherlands about 10 celcius . I have this problem evryday at morning. Sometimes at the afternoon too. When i open the door sit in the seat and the steering wheel come too slow at the position. Seat come a little bit and stop. After try the door lock anf open again. Airco off ,music off and i got it start.
Come warning popup with brake mode unavailable.
