I went for the sportier look. Bigger wheels, better looking front end, aluminum interior trim, cabernet seats. Well worth it for me!

Oh no doubt about it, f sport all the way. . I was just in a 2016 GS 350 non f sport as a loaner while my USB 2016 GS 350 f sport was in for its 10,000 mile check up. The fun factor was definitely missing.

Indeed, but it's still not near $10k. For the '17s, according to the Lexus site, the starting price of an AWD GS350 is $50,365, which is actually less than it was on my '15. The F Sport package is currently $4,115 on the RWD models and $6,190 on AWD models, which is frankly a bit odd, since it includes slightly less on the AWD models. Lexus pricing is not something I'm likely to ever fully understand.

+1 for styling for the F-sport. I am a car enthusiast so I came from a 2002 Camry that ruined all fun in driving. I needed more fun this time around and I love it.

The base front end looks too conservative and wheels are boring. Love the metallic finish on the wheels. Also the AVS as others have mentioned.

Also the interior trim and seat adjustment. I know the LUX has more adjustment but is missing the previous.

I bought used so it was only 1500-2000 more than a base. Totally worth it to me.

Default F Sport is the only way to go...

I have a '14 F Sport CPO bought with 25K miles last June. I first drove a non-F Sport and found it a 'nice car'. Besides the looks, as stated above, a F Sport is like having two different cars. In Eco you have the full Lexus Dr. Jekyll, but in S+ it turns into Mr. Hyde. Mine is liquid platinum with a flaxen interior. I just love driving it. I have a company car so I can keep it in the garage...er, a lot of the time.

My son just got a '17 MB C43. I just had an opportunity to drive it. I figured I would absolutely love it and wish I could dump the GS. Not so. Yes, the Merc has about 55 more ponies but it was not nearly as comfortable as the Lexus. Both vehicles have gorgeous interiors, As an aside..he sold his BMW 335 - too many limp mode trips to dealer, Also, after looking at the BMW I just cannot see why there are so many on the road, I concede BMW performance but the interiors are crap in comparison to the other two marques.

Like mentioned earlier, I tend to get the sport package on all my cars.
All of these things plus reliability (after driving my IS350 for 170k miles without any major problems I became a Lexus fanboy haha).

When looking into the car and the competition these reviews also helped me decide:

What DJP333 said!

For me, I know it isn't a true sports car, but the F Sport offers the dual Dr. Jecklle/Mr. Hyde type personality to match my driving style/mood.

The non F Sport's have adjustable driving modes also, as well as the S+ mode in the Lux models. For me, the seats and the headlights sold me on the Lux, but I certainly do like the styling and wheels of the F's.

Its all about the looks IMO.
Main reason why I chose for the F Sport.

I bought mine (2015 F-Sport RWD, Obsidian/Cabernet, No ML) at the end of the run of the 2015 when the dealer was clearing the 2015s to make way for the 2016s. I wasn't specifically looking for the F-Sport, but I had specific color requirements (black or white exterior, red or tan interior). Of the ones left on the lot that met my color requirements, the F-Sport had the most bang for the buck and the features that I wanted in my price range (really at the top of it). There were a few Luxury models that were a few thousand more, but they had things I didn't care about. Now that I have had the car for about 15 months I am glad I have Sport+ as I do a lot of driving in the mountains.

Non-F Sport here...I have the Lux package and did the exterior F Sport conversion. Now I have all the luxury options, the look of an F Sport (which I really like), and S+ mode and suspension (being it is a Lux mode)l. I bought used and originally wanted an F Sport but at the time I couldn't find one with the options and color combo I wanted. I am now pleased and feel I got the best of both worlds. If I ever trade up or purchase a refreshed GS, I would definitely wait it out and get the F Sport with the options I want!
