Default I always thought GS350 was really fast...

But I realized it has the same 0-60 as a Camry V6 LOL. (Camry 5.7 seconds and GS350 5.6 seconds)

I used to have a 2012 Camry V6 SE and when I bought my 2014 GS350, it didn't feel much faster.

Now I see why haha. Still love the car but wish it would have been a lot faster.

Dont we all brother dont we all wish this car was just a little faster. Although the Camry has a different engine only engine similar I believe is the Toyota crown.

I didn't know that honestly but it feels plenty fast for me. It sounds really good too, maybe one day they will have a supercharger kit for this car. I realized after having some powerful cars that they are kinda pointless on public roads. The more power the more trouble you can get into. As long as the car isn't a slug and makes you smile every once and a while when you accelerate hard its good enough for me. Keep in mind too this car still has more power than even a 535i, granted they are easier to tune for more power but still. Not to mention I think it looks better inside/out.

Take both cars on a twisting, canyon road then report back which is faster.

Yes, but with the Camry, you don't get the luxury to tell people your car takes Premium gas... oh wait...

Time has changed. 15 years ago 0-60 in mid 5 seconds is considered super car speed

The engine in the Camry is actually the same basic engine. Obviously they are different series of the Toyota GR engine, but the building blocks are the same. GS uses the 2GR-FSE, Camry and ES/Avalon/etc use the 2GR-FE which is the transverse application and is missing the direct injection.

Here in NYC, there are so many Taxi's/Uber/Lyft Ride-hailing cars that use a black Camry as a taxi/TLC that I would NEVER want to own a Camry even if it was just as a fast as a GS...Don't get me wrong, I like the camry as it was my first (a 1992 burgandy Camry XLE V6) but wouldn't choose it over a GS.

Although I agree with the OP that the GS seems underpowered, it makes up for it in every other category IMHO...I can almost guarantee that if i pulled up in a Camry around my way, people would think I was a taxi and ask me "how much to go uptown??!"

And the speed at which it accelerates is only one part of the overall experience...

if the camry SE had GS350 in the back with our interior, I would choose the camry styling over the GS in a second.

They really designed the SE model a little too well for the price.

And if you don't use Premium gas in your GS, it may be slower than the Camry.

My parents has a 91 burgandy camry. That was probably the most reliable car they ever had, car was so rocksolid.

Acceleration is one thing, luxury and prestige is another.

Had a Camry SE Coupe prior to buying the IS, and although the Camry was an awesome car for what is was, the Lexus takes the driving experience to another level, IMO.
