Keyhole covered up
I was trying to unlock the car with the mechanical key and couldn't get the key in. Seems like the keyhole is covered by a piece of metal. Has anyone seen this before? Is this normal or evidence of a shoddy repair job? Any idea how to remedy? Thanks!

Completely normal. It is a guard so dirt, water, etc doesn't get into the barrel of the lock. Put the mechanical key in with the black plastic portion of the key facing to the right and the key will slide right in.

While you are playing with the mechanical keys take a look at your trunk's keyhole and you'll likely see it is covered in black grease and road grit.

Tried both ways, metal piece is not budging, even with a good amount of force... may have to take it to the dealer and drop coin to get it fixed
