Engine rattling/diesel noise
Hello I brought in my car for a 10,000 miles check up today. Mainly, I wanted them to check out the diesel (slight rattling) engine noise it makes at a cold start; it goes away after about 10 minutes of driving.
The dealership just called me and told me it was normal for the GS 350s and it was the sound of the fuel injectors. Is this true? Or should I press them further?
Here is the video:
EDIT: picking up the car in about 4 hours so would appreciate any input. TIA

It's normal, nothing to worry about. It is the sound of the fuel injectors.

Same here - I was worried about that too when I first got my GS (First Toyota/Lexus product) but I heard several other GS's in my parking garage making the same noise when they leave for work in the AM.

Haha glad to see others shared my worries. I had my car delivered and when I got it off the trailer I thought to myself that I bought a lemon when I heard the engine and drove it. I was used to my inline 6 bmw motors and my LS430 which is so quiet. After doing some research I deemed it to be normal.

It's not just Lexus GS 350s making the high-pressure direct fuel injector system noise. Many brands are using this technology nowadays.
