Default Wish this car was more popular!

Dropped my is350 off for inspection and got a 17 gs as a loaner. Truly nice inside and the ride is great. It will be really sad if Lexus kills this vehicle. All it needs is the ttv6, and keep the current v6 as the base engine

It's nice with a few upgrades from the older years, actually I believe the 3.5 liter engine feels much faster with the IS chassis , probably less body weight.

Dallasguy1: My old IS350 was definitely faster than the GS and you're correct, i attributed it to the weight difference. I had 17" wheels on the IS350 and am sure it was a good 200-300lbs lighter than my 4GS. When I sat in the GS, it def. was not as quick but everything else about it made up for that split second difference in acceleration.

evident: In a strange way, I love the fact that the GS is more of a "rare bird." There are plenty of camry's, accords, ES350's, RX350s, BMW X5's and 5 series, and a crap ton of nissan altima's in my area. When you roll down the street in your GS, you're likely one of a few owners that have the pleasure of the GS's all-around winning formula

Yeah there are alot of those cars you mentioned, I hardly see any GS's which is a good thing for me. I don't like having the same stuff everyone has.

I actually like the fact that you don't see to many. In my area maybe a couple of other people have one. All you see it bmw, Mercedes and other common names here.

Agreed, I'm looking at picking up a GS myself. Is this ttV6 still a rumor or is it really going to happen soon?

I was just looking up specs, according to Lexus brochures the 2006-2012 IS350 RWD is 3527 lbs and does 0-60 in 5.6 while the 2013 GS350 RWD is 3795 lbs and does 0-60 in 5.7. Same engine, different transmission, and GS is 268 lbs heavier.

I had my IS when they weren't super popular yet, they are everywhere now. I too prefer to be different and the GS is a good choice for that in my opinion.

I give a nod of approval in the rare event I see another GS on the road...as if they could see me. Every time I see one, I marvel at its beauty, then realize I'm driving one, too.

They should put that new TTV6 from the new LS on the new GS350 FSport only. Non FSport can keep the non-turbo V6.

The popularity definitely depends on the location though -- Up central CT, it is very difficult for me to see another 4GS, but there are around 5-10 4GS's in my building in Northern VA (about 450 unit condo mid/high rise). I want to say there are roughly the same number of GS's, E Classes, 5 Series in my parking garage.

great car

just needs a more refined more handsome look

25% more fuel efficiency to compete with germans

no turbo lag like there is with the new 2.0 turbo motor

a real interface comparable to I drive or Mmi on audi

and more comfortable front seats

other than that its perfect

I am the same way when I see one on the road. I typically drive a work truck during the week and I see one every now and again on the highways. It truly is one sharp looking ride. There are two in my area which I see on a weekly basis, a Liquid Platinum and an Atomic Silver F-Sport. When I see them, I nod in approval. I truly love the fact that there aren't many of them on the roads, makes me feel just a little bit more special! On the weekends, I take my 2015 Atomic Silver F-Sport out of the garage for rides around town. I truly love this car. Over the past few years, I've been through quite a few cars and this is the only one that I am not going to let go of, for many, many years.
