Default Help, thinking of purchasing a GS before my flight leaves today at 540 pm.

Found a 2015 GS 350 F Sport while in another state at a very decent price. My only worries is that the car is at a 3rd party independent dealer and has no certification. The vehicle does have 23 months or 39k miles of manufacturers warranty however. Car fax and auto check show no issues other than the car had 2 owners, one personal lease and the other personal. Car only has 20K miles and is a beauty with Cabernet interior. Asking price is 34K, but I want to offer 33k. I've also heard that lease returns bought at auctions by 3rd parties are usually cars Lexus and Toyota passed on because something was wrong with them. Can anyone help me with insight before I decide to purchase this vehicle?

I would go for it, has factory warranty so why worry.

I wouldn't spend $33k in a rush. I am skeptical of a car that's had 2 owners in 2 years/20k miles.

Factory warranty covers factory type things. If you really want it, find a reputable shop locally to have the car inspected before you buy it. Factory won't cover shoddy repairs, user damage, accident stuff, etc.

I would absolutely have it inspected before purchasing anything if it's not from a Lexus dealer. If that clears, it's got a good amount left on the warranty. You can't get a VSA on it, I don't think though.

VSA = Vehicle Service Agreement (https://www.lexusfinancial.com/pub/w...ice_agreements)

Its basically Lexus lingo for an extended warranty beyond the standard, factory warranty/CPO warranty. Usually, you can buy one from any Lexus/Toyota dealership.

Also create a login and check the VIN for service history. I skipped on a couple cars when I was shopping due to the service history being lacking or the dealership noting previous damage or declining service when advised.

Yep, exactly. I got a 125k mile 7 year one for $2,550 for a '14 ES350 last month. I hope they make money off me and I never have to use the warranty up to it's full cost. The peace of mind and ability to prove the car is bulletproof reliable to 125k miles (long term reliability) is worth it to me, without the risk in the event that something does indeed go wrong or it turns out to be very unreliable. After 125k miles to evaluate the car, we'll know about the reliability in an almost certain manner (95% chance it goes one way, 5% chance another to me). Up to this point (at 35k miles), it's not had a single issue except a flat tire.

This is actually a great resource. Mercedes-Benz and BMW don't have a website where you can do this — I wish they did.
