Help! Big Purchase Today! 2014 GS350 FSport Vs 2014 E350 MB (needing expert help!)

I had a 2010 MB E350 and now own a 2017 Lexus GS350. Honestly after the new MB E-class came out the interior of the old ones look outdated. If you don't mind that the E350 is a great car and honestly the fit and finish is better than the new GS350.

The Lexus maybe more reliable and faster but it also is the ugliest of the two cars. Sorry ask any woman which car looks the best? My wife has a newer model E350 which I drive from time to time. The car has been rock solid. It’s just so D.. slow in my opinion. If it was my choice. BENZ all day.. every day. Neither car is fast. The hold reliable talk is over hype. It’s 2017

Agree on the below post (and I'm a German car guy - owned BMW & Audi and parents love MB)
The interior on that year/model Mercedes is really dated. The 1990s style buttons under the screen are terrible and you feel the age when you look around the interior. You spend all your time in the interior - why pay more money for an attractive exterior that other people get to enjoy, while you are stuck in something that looks pre-y2k. The new generation E class looks literally twenty years more futuristic than this one

Definitely get the Lexus (totally unbiased opinion from a Lexus forum member )
Kidding aside...these are the reasons I would get the Lexus over the Mercedes
-The GS handles way better than the E350. Drive the GS in Sport S+ mode and you'll fall in love.
-The GS is faster than the E350.
-The color combo you found for the GS is perfect (little biased). The Mercedes looks a little boring, especially with the base headlights.
-Interior of the GS is much more modern than the E350. Look how small that screen is in the E350 compared to the GS.
-Most Mercedes I've encountered have MBTex vinyl rather than leather, and sometimes are missing basic features like keyless access/start.
-Lexus has a much higher reliability rating than Mercedes, especially for those years.
-Even though you have the warranty, things on Mercedes start to go bad around 50K miles. Be prepared to leave your car in the shop for a while. Nothing major reported for the GS, even high mileage ones.
-Lexus maintenance cost less than Mercedes.
-Parts outside warranty cost less on Lexus than Mercedes

I cross shopped both of these as well. As others have said...where do you spend most of your time with a car? Inside. And Lexus demolishes the Mercedes' interior in my opinion.
With the lexus, you are still within current generation, and the interior in my opinion is quite future proof in terms of aesthetics.
With the benz, you will be the guy who bought the older gen benz because you couldn't get into a new one. Harsh, but it's true

Long term ownership = Lexus (it's common knowledge).
I've had the 2016 E350 sedan as a loaner (my wife has the GL) and I was not impressed with the interior quality, ride quality, lack of rear seat legroom and the price they're charging. It felt like a sub-30k dollar car with a 50k+ dollar sticker price. Certain people buy it strictly for "snob appeal".

I agree. The outside is gorgeous but the inside is so outdated; I may as well stay in my 2015 C250.
