Help! Big Purchase Today! 2014 GS350 FSport Vs 2014 E350 MB (needing expert help!)

The Lexus maybe more reliable and faster but it also is the ugliest of the two cars. Sorry ask any woman which car looks the best? My wife has a newer model E350 which I drive from time to time. The car has been rock solid. It’s just so D.. slow in my opinion. If it was my choice. BENZ all day.. every day. Neither car is fast. The hold reliable talk is over hype. It’s 2017

I am a woman actually :-). The benz looks better I agree but the inside is an it dated and I couldn't get passed that. It's cheaper than the GS but I'd be cheating myself if I got the benz for the ohh and ahhs of the exterior when the interior is so dated. I chose the Lexus!

LOL. But we base our discussions on fact and mostly past ownership experience. Not what someone's rich grandfather demands their trust fund descendants to buy. Just saying.

Seriously, it's who their target demographic is. If the style doesn't fit your tastes, you're probably no longer on their radar?

My favorite post on the MB forum was something like "if it snows where you live, get the Mercedes 4Matic, though the Lexus is FWD so it won't be bad in the snow"...

We have both a '14 E350 sport and a '15 GS350 F-sport in the family, which i get to drive weekly. Both were bought new and have about 15K miles each. Like has been said here, if I had to pick one for the long term, it would be the GS. Undoubtedly it will have less issues years down the road, and the interior (and screen) is much more modern, whereas the W212 is starting to feel dated. The GS seats are better than the MB-tex "leather" interior as well. The chassis is more taut and better to drive when hustling around (gotta utilize Sport+ mode). The Benz does have some things going for it, however: It is a better highway cruiser, with more mid-range torque (put the transmission in "S" mode and it wakes up,) and has a typical German vault-like feel while hurling down the road. The back seat feels more spacious, though the angle of the seat backs doesn't make it as comfortable when sitting for hours on end. And though the screen is tiny, the control wheel function is better than Lexus' distracting mouse/joystick contraption.
Just my quick .02. Good luck!

someone else, etc. I see where you are coming from, sometimes I do get annoyed by the changes, like lexus has a front end identity crisis. It would be
interesting if somehow you were allowed to choose the front end of the car, or change it. (I realize, of course, this costs too much to be
practical, from a production POV). That said whenever someone whines about the way a lexus looks, I usually respond with... well, are you
going to sit in a lawn chair and stare at it all day? Or are you going to drive it? People also act like they're pontiac azteks or something, the response is
just absurd.
