That's your opinion, but you may as well not put any more effort into trying to convince me to think the same way, it's not going to happen. IMHO spending $55,000 for a car and spray painting a repair on it to save $800 is silly. My viewpoint isn't going to change. I feel the same way about people who skimp on fuel and oil too. Silly. If he's worried about damaging if again I'd say be more careful. My cars are daily driven, and they don't get run into things or beaten up.

IMHO if you're not willing to care for nice things the proper way you shouldn't buy nice things.

My job sent me overseas for 3 months so I have not had time to think about it nor fix it hence the delay in my response

I get SW15LS's point but regardless I am going to go the cheap route. If I do get it fixed by a shop it will be one of the lower cost ones, not one >$500. I'mglad his bumper rarely gets hit , maybe I just have bad luck, maybe I'm a crappy driver, maybe I don't get enough sleep but if I'm a betting man , something else will happen to that bumper,. With all due respect, telling me I shouldn't own a Lexus because I think that way is inappropriate, what I choose to do with my money with respect to purchasing a vehicle has no relation to this thread. I do not need perfection on my bumper, I just want it to not be noticeable by someone not looking for it

@Udel, first thank you for your informative reply. I have one question though, you state that paint has to be mixed by a shop to match, can't you just buy paint by matching the color code? Which I believe the Nebula Grey Pearl is 1H9. I did not see the code posted on the side of the door though.

Sorry, I just don’t see the point of spending this much money for something this nice and not caring for it properly. I never said you “shouldn’t own a Lexus”, I said I didn’t understand why someone would pay this much money for something that has so little value to them that they would leave damage like that or have it repaired poorly. People do many things I don’t understand, I don’t have to understand, but my opinion stands.

Paint has has to be custom matched, paint shades are a little bit different on every car even when they’re the same color, and paints fade over time. That’s another reason why a spot repair generally looks so obvious. The paint doesn’t match right.
