It's an interesting article but gives no confirmation of the GS in the future lineup. I don't really see much here. He says it fits well in today's Lexus lineup. Of course he's going to say that as it is for sale today as a 2019. Then he refused to any confirmation that there will be a successor.

Interesting article...thank you for sharing!

Although it still doesn't firmly indicate that Lexus will continue with a 5GS, at least its nice to know executives feel the GS and what it represents is important to the brand. I think that's all that most of us GS enthusiasts want to know - that they value sleepy, boring (and over-designed in some instances) sedans and SUVs because that's what sells...but they actually care to ALSO have a diversified portfolio of offerings including a few options like a GS or sport sedan/coupe that may appeal to a smaller % of potential customers.

Still doesn't confirm anything about a future GS, but shows at least they understand that they need to care about all segments...

As I got more powerful cars where the AC compressor drag on the engine was less noticeable I couldn't really tell a difference between running AC and not but I would still only run it when really needed.

When I got a GS350 I was a little put off by not having a dedicated AC button but have grown more used to it, however I did find that in the climate settings you can change how the outside air/recirc button functions. I forget what the wording is but now if I want AC on all I have to do is set the outside air/recirc to Auto and it turns on. Set it on outside or recirc and it turns off again. This is pretty much an AC on button.

I honestly love not having a AC button, the car just defogs itself as opposed to me having to button dance the correct combo to defog the windows.

Indeed, not sure that it matters though. If the ES replaces the GS as it likely will, it says more about the direction of Lexus than any executive

Looks like we still have hope in the 5th GS

Well this is a good sign, I've been in 4 consecutive GSs, 2008, 2013, 2015, and 2018, I have a feeling if it makes it to 2021, it will be the best one yet!!

not very convincing to me, and only time will tell if the GS line actually stays.
I distinctly recall a large lexus dealership in the greater LA area marking down GSs by as low as $10k due to low movement!

Default Good news for GS & GS F

If the new GM of Lexus IS to be believed, good news from the Detroit Auto Show about the future of the GS platform—although won’t say if there will be a 5th Gen—or if 4th Gen will continue to soldier on.

Cool. They could potentially do something pretty neat with a 5th gen... more powerful engine would be awesome. Although it didn't confirm a 5th gen or that the line wouldn't be axed, least the comments made about the GS weren't negative. Fingers crossed.

This thread has become as valuable as most news channels...this just in, a big explosion in downtown, several injured...no dozens killed...no hundreds killed, the worst terorist attack since....

two hour later. A gas leak caused an explosion in downtown. Two suffered burns and have been treated...

we we just love to speculate and panic, don’t we?
