Thank you very much to all of you,
All comments are very important and helpful.
As I can tell the biggest reason for most GS owners was Reliability.
Im shopping for a daily commute car 40 miles a day no highways, planning to keep our ML diesel as family car for a long trips.
So reliability is a very important factor for me too planning to keep it for a few years.
I think its time to test drive it.
Thank you again,
Dan.

Lexus Champion
I didn't actually cross shop anything else when I got my GS. I had a '14 IS350 that I loved but it was becoming too small for my family. I had it in for a routine service and walked out to the showroom while I was waiting. I ran into my salesman who I continue to have a good relationship with. I said I would need to go up a car size sometime in the next year. He mentioned Lexus was having great rebates ($5k at the time) on the GS and that he had a couple. I loved how it drove so similar to my IS but gave me more room and features. We sat down and after a bit of back and forth he offered me what I considered to be a deal I just didn't want to pass up. Hook. Line. Sinker.
I haven't regretted it once. I love my GS!

Reliability, comfort, performance, TCO per mile for class of car.
I drove a 2001 GS430 for 13 years and put 160k miles on it.
Most expensive service was the timing belt and water pump for $1000.
It never let me down, and I only had to replace maintenance parts.
Now I drive a 2013 GS350, and oh man what a car.
I actually look forward to my drives.

I've owned a audi a6 and a bmw 335i before i got the gs 350. While owning both of the german cars, i've had to take the bmw to the dealer for repairs concerning the transmission, engine, and/or turbos. The audi was starting to have transmission problems. I sold them right when the warranties expired because I didn't want to have any of the headaches. I've had the GS for about a year and a half now and I had no major issues, other than excessive wind noise after the dealer replaced my sunroof for rattling noises. In my opinion the GS is one of the best balanced cars i've owned.
