Only inspection for leakage is recommended through 150,000 miles. Replacing the differential gear oil anytime before [say] 100k miles at the earliest is a total waste of money.

Awesome that your GS has hit the 100k mile club mark! Any major issues or problems along the way? I had my rear differential fluid changed at 47k even though the recommended change isn't until 150k as mentioned by fellow member bclexus. Here's a few helpful threads about the front/rear differential fluids:

I've changed both my front and rear diff at 60k, and sure glad I did. There was a good amount of material on that magnetic drain plug. I plan on keeping the fluid there for longer than 60k beyond the first change though(maybe 80-100k).
The fluid I used is synthetic which I trust way more than the original Toyota conventional fluid for the Canadian winter climate.

It doesn't hurt to change it sooner especially the first change. The original break-in debris stay inside the diff and you'd want to get it out.

I have AWD, changed both the front and rear at 62,000 miles. My trusted Toyota master tech of 14 years at Toyota took care of it. Replaced both with 75-90 Synthetic.
Upon draining, he said it looked normal for a first drain at those miles, no issues. Magnets had some shavings from break in, again all looked normal.
Total at Toyota for both $163.00. Will do it again in 40,000 miles.
