2013 vs 2014. Which would you buy?
Just wondering what others think about this choice:
2013 out of warranty. But, only 21k miles. Luxury package, Premium package. Mark Levinson. Love the Flaxen interior. Not F-Sport but has AVS Sport + mode.. These cars are hard to find. 29k asking price.
vs
2014 Lexus Certified. 27k miles. No fancy options but has the main things I want, BSM, heated/cooled seats, Nav. Light grey interior. 30k asking price.
Both are liquid platinum exterior. Little boy in me wants the 2013. Prudent grown up says go for the L-Certified. Based on initial purchase date the 2014 is almost 2 years newer than the 2013.

You are making the little boy in me smile. I test drove the 13 the other day. It drove great. Looks great. I want it! Just a little nervous about cost of ownership but that probably won't be a problem till later on. I currently own a 2006 GS430. Still love the buttery smooth effortless power of the V8. It would have been fine if I had sold it at 90k. But keeping it now till 126k was not such a good idea cost wise. You have to know when to let go. Is there any consensus on a good extended warranty program? I see so many complaints about them.

It depends on what option you must have.
Here are the new features for 2014 and newer:
8 Speed Transmission
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Optional Power Trunk
Climate Concierge with is automatic heated & ventilated Seats
Power folding outside rear mirrors

With only 21k miles and the host of options, the '13 is the one to rock. You can always get a Lexus Platinum warranty but they are pricey. If you can negotiate down on the price of the '13 and get a Lexus VSA/extended warranty all in for $29k that would be great.
I have a '13 GS with 52k miles on the odometer and no issues to report. Its a great, reliable car and with only 21k miles, that '13 is not even broken in!

I have the '13. I wish I paid a bit more for the '14 to get the folding side mirrors and power trunk. I believe it also gets slightly better bluetooth integration so you can fire up siri from the steering wheel.

I put a deposit on the 13 this morning. Hopefully can pick it up today. Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the input!
I have been browsing online for years for these cars. I only see one like this a few times a year within 300 miles of me. At least for < 30k miles and dollars. Would have liked the rear cross traffic alert and power trunk. But will have plenty of goodies to take my mind off it.
