Default Custom Covered Wrist Wrest

So I did a thing today:

I picked up some unfinished leather from Michaels/Jo-Ann fabrics (whichever you prefer) and made a nice custome wrist rest that is a little more comfortable and a whole lot more stylish.

The color matched pretty well. I did want to go a little darker from the seats/arm rest to set it apart. I also have 2 dogs that will walk on this and want to make sure it wont get stained easily.

I cut the basic shape, put two dabs of glue on the bottom (under the black plastic piece with 5 screws) and glued the bottom into place then I worked my way around with some patience and sharp scissors. What you see if the final product. And because I didn't glue anything to the top of the wrist rest, I can return this back to stock if need be.

My only concern is if the leather relaxes or stretches and looks like a loose condom or something. Time will tell.

Looks really nice!! I've never liked the feel of the stock piece.

It is leather! If you take off the bottom plastic portion with the 5 screws you can see the wrinkles in the leather where it was folded over and glued from the factory lol

Just grab the front of it and pull up. It is held on by clips

Factory wrist rest is not leather. It's that awful plastic vinyl stuff (Nuluxe).

Vinyl might be more accurate but it is not a hard ABS plastic like it would seem.

It's the Nuluxe vinyl stuff. Sorry, vinyl to me is plastic. But you're right, it's not rock hard ABS plastic. Sorry for the confusion.

I do think the suede leather on the GS-F is actually real leather. May look into that upgrade. Seems to be a thread I remember on here asking that exact same question...

Its alcantara in the GSF, which is fake suede leather...so going with your logic, it must be plastic. 😅
