Buying Advice 2017 gs F sport
Hi Guys,
I am in market for a 2017 GS F Sport and need general for the purchase. I hate dealing with car dealers :-).
I have found one with 11.5k Miles. It is a non cpo car, Mark Levinson is there, HUD is missing, Does not have luxury prpremium package ( rear seats are not heated).
I want to get an idea about what others have paid for a similar car
Also I want to know do I need to take this car for a Pre Purchase inspection.
Car fax shows it is single owner car, no issues there . (should I check other sites like autocheck etc)
I checked lexus driver site for service records and they are fine/regular.
Is there any advantage in negotiation if I am doing a one time cash payment (essentially bankers check) .
What other negotiation points are important if car checks out to be ok.
Is there any site which can tell what options are on the car (even through dealer site is fair enough)
Regards,

If this isn't a CPO car the first thing I'd be asking is "why isn't this being sold as a CPO car?" unless the dealer is a non lexus dealer. or its some kind of private sale. If this is really a 17, its also kind of bizarre that someone is getting rid of it in less than a year....
Also what price is it being offered at? Unless this is a huge cut from a new car, there's a fair chance that they're asking too much for it....

Dealers are more likely to give you a discount if you use their financing, as they can make some money on the back end. If they agree to a discount, you could take the financing and just refinance or pay it off asap.

Lead Lap
-A 2017 F Sport with that much mileage should sell between $45-$50k but there are folks that have gotten tremendous year end deals on leftover brand new (no mileage) models right before the new year hits.
-A 2017 is covered for 4yrs/50k miles bumper to bumper from Lexus so you're good until 2021. I always think a professional inspection is necessary unless you are comfortable with doing it all yourself and dealing with any warrantable repairs by taking it straight to Lexus.
-Usually not too much difference if you pay cash/bank check or finance when it comes to negotiating. I had a finance manager at Lexus tell me they make more money off financing (but you end up paying interest) so its up to you really how you want to handle the purchase.
-If the car checks out fine from a mechanical perspective, you should check tires, brakes, wheels, any rubber seals, suspension, seating/interior condition/interior trims, rock chips on exterior/scratches, bumper condition. Wear and tear items should be looked at carefully.

F Sport and Luxury package are mutually exclusive. You won't find an F with Lux nor will you find a Lux with the F package. Negotiate as much as you can. Used cars have more headroom for the dealer to work with then new ones. I know because I used to be in Toyota sales. They buy low and sell high...

I bought my '17 f sport with 10k miles...non CPO...from another dealership not lexus....42k + fees + taxes...46k out the door...i think its because i added some other items
I did require them to let me take it to lexus to have them run a full blown inspection on it.
