Default Soot on rear of car after WOT pulls??

I picked up a 19K mile '13 GS350 F-sport a few months ago. I noticed over the last few weeks that whenever I go full throttle that the rear of my car has lots of soot-like water all over it. Is this just normal condensation in the exhaust and made worse by the fact my car is white? It does this when I go WOT after driving the car a few minutes all the way to when the car has been driven for 20+ minutes and is fully warmed up. I would have assumed the condensation would have evaporated after 5-10 minutes but, could be wrong.

Thanks - Todd

I have a white f sport and I don't experience this. The only time I have the black soot stuff on the back of the car is after driving in the rain, but I believe this just comes with the territory or driving a white car

When I get home after driving in the rain I always rinse the back of the car with some water to wash away the black stuff, so it doesn't dry and leave the 'soot' look.

I noticed some on my rear in the last few days, I've been running the car pretty hard.

I agree but, it was over 60 degrees the other day. I've had multiple Lexus cars/suv's but, this is the first one that I'm having this issue. I'm dropping it off with the dealer this week so they can sort it out.

Thanks - Todd

I have the same issue on my Starfire Pearl white GS. After I wash the car and drive it out for a couple of errands, there is a slight film of soot build-up produced and just gets worse from there. I live in California where the weather is almost always above 60 degrees, but some of the roads are really bad so it could be just debris from the ground getting kicked up.

@Todd Edge, did the dealer do anything to resolve it?

Dealer said everything was fine and likely due to lower quality gas. I'm running a new tank of Shell 93 and will see if this makes any difference.

I don't get a ton of it but from time to time when I am cleaning the exhaust tip area of my car there will be some soot there.

Seems like there was way more of it there though when I first washed the car after buying it, so there might be some validity to the gas brand claims... I dunno what the dealer filled the car with, and I forget what I topped it off with in CT... (gulf 93?)

Since getting it back home I run about 90% Shell VPower through it.... Haven't seen much soot, but it does appear from time to time...

Everyone is going to see some road soot accumulate on the rear of the car just from driving. There will be some exhaust soot on the rear of the car too, and especially eye-catching around the exhaust outlets where sooty water vapor condensation is forced out the tailpipe.

You'll also see from time-to-time [in your rearview mirror] what appears to be a noticeable amount of grayish-white exhaust that ceases after a 5-6 seconds of wide-open-throttle. This is simply a combination of water vapor that was trapped in the passages of exhaust system being blown out under strong WOT exhaust pressures along with natural combustion gases. It's nothing to be concerned about...
