Yes! It drives me crazy.... especially at 45 mph. Down hill runs 52-55 and uphill will keep the 45 fairly well. This is the speed I want to drive in a 40 and I end up having to just 'drive' as it is too risky to be + 5 over in this neighborhood.

If you hit a big hill, yeah, it's not going to brake, and its not going to downshift aggressively either, but if you know how to run it, the whole thing is a non issue.

My wife's 2008 RX does a wayyy better job at maintaining speed than the GS. :/

He said he gets at lest a couple calls a month from people living out of state that got ticketed for 80+ that didn't realize it was a criminal offense and their $200 speeding ticket is now $1,000+ to have an attorney deal with it if they can't travel back for the court date. I drive 7-8 over at most in VA now. :-)
Yes. That's correct. Even if the speed is 70 (which it is after Williamsburg headed towards Richmond) you can get a reckless driving ticket going over 80.

And then the 20 over ticket. Doing 45+ in a 25 so on and so forth. Huge tickets for that screw up. Going to court to explain to the judge why you were in such a rush. Never happened to me, just had to escort Sailors who did in case the judge sent them to jail - which happened often. I once had a girl who went to jail for 4 days for doing 93 in a 55 claiming she was late for a nail appointment, in the rain, with her 2 yr old in the back. No mercy.

I did a trip from Houston to Baton Rouge this past weekend, the cruise control kept the speed quite well. Could be due to the travel being pretty much flat other than an overpass here and there,

I think the natural flow of traffic here on the South Side (Va Beach) is about 10-12 over posted. We have a couple saturated kill zones where there are more detecting going on but generally they just have rolling hot zones and pull indiscriminately ... by that I mean the fastest person over the average flow who doesn't see the bear in the woods.
I'm originally from Virginia, radar is set to go off at 6 MPH above the speed limit, it's up to the police's discretion to pull you over. As long as the radar has a calibration certificate doesn't matter what police dept is using it.

The higher the speed, the steadier the speed the cruise control will maintain. The flatter the road, the steadier the speed the cruise control will maintain.

Maintaining steady speed from cruise control cannot be expected on a hilly surface unless you are traveling faster than 60, and preferably faster than 70 mph. If you are traveling at a slower speed with cruise control, such as in the 40s or even 50 mph on a hilly road, the cruise control is not going to work well...and the transmission may even shift going up rather steep inclines.

Totally honest, this is the very last thing I'm picky about on a car...really. Omg, it lost 3 mph on a hill and is slowing itself down on a downhill buy dropping a gear...seriously?
