Default Replacing regular grille with F-Sport

Hi,
My dealer only had a non-f sport version of the 2016 GS when I bought it. Didn't care too much back then but I prefer the F-sport grille now.
Has anyone ordered the OEM grille and replaced theirs? What is the price difference between ordering from a 3rd party versus the dealership?

I don't believe I've seen anyone on the forum do this swap directly on the refreshed 2016-2018 GS. However, the overall shape of the standard grille and the F-sport grilles are the same. The only difference is the that Lexus supplies the premium/lux package GS's with a slat-like, horizontal style grille whereas the F sport and GS-F receive a criss-cross mesh pattern.

If you purchase the grille inserts or a used grille off eBay (like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-2017-L...7/182951405957), you'll be able to reuse your emblem and most likely the chrome surround from your original grille. I imagine that you will pay substantially more for the F-sport grille from Lexus than if you can find it on eBay or via third party because Lexus sells the entire grille which includes both the bottom/top grilles and chrome surround. I believe the grille assembly is part # 53101-30890 and it will run you at least $550 bucks.

Also, member fellow member NXXT converted his 2013 GS to have the 2016 F-Sport bumper, but decided to use the non-F sport horizontal grille inserts on his amazing conversion. Based on this alone, you can be certain you can swap out the grilles if you already have a 2016+: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...rted-gs-2.html

I did change out my grille on my pre-refresh '13 to an aftermarket grille but it was a PAIN as i didn't remove the bumper. I'd highly recommend removing your bumper to do the installation. If you do the swap, take some before and after pics!
