Hi, this is very interesting, mine does NOT remember if I left them ON when turning the car off. Do you mind telling me what MONTH the car was made? I got mine 04-2012, so it was one of the first ones.

If my memory serves me well, there was a thread waaaaaaaay back in 2012 where there was a discussion of two different model number seat warmers in the MY13 cars. It could explain the different functionality we're all seeing.

My 2013 seat heaters remain in whatever heat position I set them - they do not change, which is how I like it. Also, when I turn Off the car with the seat heaters On and come back, the seat heaters come back On in the same heat position I had them in, which is how I like it. To my knowledge the personal seat heat settings have never been changed.

VIN plate shows 04/2013 so a later car for sure. My in service date was early Aug, 2013.

Thank you. Most likely that was changed, shortly after the car came out. I just got the 2014 buttons from ebay. Once they get here, I will attempt to replace them and then see if the auto / manual mode can be enabled directly via the buttons, and not have to use the carista app.

Please let us know what you find out! Anxiously awaiting the result!

No luck. The buttons behave just like mine, no auto light comes on when you cycle through.

If I remember correctly in the manual, ECO mode automatically puts the heaters in auto. I only use eco mode when the fuel light turns on though. :-)

super late update but thought i could add to this.

2015 with auto feature will plug up to the 2013 without auto feature but the auto feature will not work.
just use the carista app and change the setting under climate controls. switch it from auto to manual.
