Shark Fin Antenna Broke Off, Advice?
So a rather embarrassing story. About a week ago I had to run a quick errand, so I went to back out of my garage. I opened the garage door, and went and got in my car. Started her up, looked in my mirrors and didn't see the garage door, so I put it in reverse and start backing out, only to hear a crunch. Turns out the garage door had decided to stop half way up, without blinking the opener light or anything. Had it been up another inch I would have cleared it, but it was just low enough to snag the hook in the antenna fin, and yanked most of it off.
So, essentially the fin enclosure broke off, the base plate got pulled off the roof of the car and is now slightly bent, but the main electronics board and wire is still on the base plate and going into the roof. A small electronic board seems to have broken off, but surprisingly the radio still works just fine. For now I just kind of put some tape over the base into the shape of the antenna, to keep water and snow out (MN, been snowing lately).
I still need to do some research, but was wondering what my best option here is. I'm not sure exactly how the plate attaches to the roof, but if its something simple like adhesive or it just snaps in, I'm wondering if I could get ahold of the part and replace the enclosure/plate myself. Of if I am going to be stuck going to the dealer and paying an insane amount for a repair? Haven't called them yet, been busy this week. But really want to get this fixed soon, as I haven't been able to wash my car and it's getting disgusting with all the snow here.
See pictures for more details. Had this car for nearly two years and this is the first incident, by me backing into my own garage door.

This actually happens quite often..
Your antenna is bolted from underneath. An experienced person is recommended to install your replacement antenna. You don't want to
cause additional damage to your headliner during install. Hopefully, you have not damaged your roof in the process? If so, the antenna will never seal
properly. Which will cause water to leak inside.
Here is a diagram of your antenna, and pricing will differ from state to state i'm sure. Good luck

2013, white pearl. Gonna get a quote from my dealer, it doesn't look too hard, just cramped and a pain. I don't want to risk not doing it right and getting water inside.
As for the roof, doesn't look dented.

I swear that when I read your thread, I thought that I was having a deja vu moment. I then performed a search in the 4GS subforum, which turned up this topic from less than a month ago: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...rage-door.html
You and LexusGSFGO should be friends Anyway, I hope that other topic helps a bit.
Remember to always search in the future! 9 of 10 times, I can guarantee whatever issue you are having has already been discussed in the 4GS forum.

If the garage door's impact with the shark fin didn't cause your car's roof to deform consider yourself extremely lucky. To get a proper seal the roof must not be deformed.
