Question Newb wheel questions - '14 GS350 AWD

Hey all,

Been lurking for some time and finally registered.

Hoping to to upgrade my '14 GS350 AWD with 20" wheels in the spring and have some newb questions for the resident experts here.

Was happy with my Rohana wheels I had on my Jaguar XF, and am planning on going with those again.

Questions are below:
- What widths is the general consensus here for 20" wheels for front and rear? Ideally I'd like to go 10" or 11" in the rear, but am looking to avoid any rubbing issues in the front or rear, and am not looking to get into rolling the fenders.
- Which offsets should I go with for front and rear?
- Lastly, tire sizes for front and rear?

Looking forward to everyone's input. Been scouring the forums here and I see there are a number of options, quickly becoming paralysis by analysis.

Appreciate it, guys!

Can you run staggered like that with AWD? I always thought they had to be the same...

drgrant--Some on this forum say it's OK to use staggered on AWD provided the overall circumference are the same, or similar, citing 5% differences with no problems.

Me---no thanks, I don't want to tear up an AWD system on a $60K car and will stick with the same wheels at all corners as intended. I'm not smarter than Lexus engineers and wont' pretend to be.

My personal opinion is 20" wheels are too big for this car and look too bulky compared to the rest of the car. The 19's already seem huge with low profile tires and not a lot of protection from damaging rims due to potholes. Then again, I'm an old geezer compared to most on this site, so this is "old man talking" !!! haha By all means do whatever you want just be aware that it may not be the best thing to do...

I was always told on AWD that all 4 wheels & tires had to be the same, so I personally wouldn't stagger on an AWD setup.

That being said, I own a 2013 F-Sport RWD and put 20s on mine. Haven't had any rubbing except just a tiny bit when turning the wheels completely left or right (occasionally happens while parking).

Front: Velgen VMB5 20x9 - 245/35 20 +35 offset
Back: Velgen VMB5 20x10.5 - 285/30 20 +45 offset

I've ran staggered on a 2007 GS350 AWD for almost 100k miles without issues. You want to keep the overall wheel diameter front/back difference around 1%. I've seen people post up issues (warning lights) when they exceed 3% difference. 5% is ridiculous. Of course, do this at your own risk.

I agree! If I don't like the wheels on a car I don't buy it. I love the stock wheels on mine. Of course I'm 53 and have been there and done that I guess.

Thanks for the clarity...I hate misleading people and thought I read a 5% was the mention of no issues in older threads. That sounded ridiculous to me too.

I did a bit of research and opted to go staggered on my 2013 GS350 AWD. I went with a oem full face 19” Forged staggered lexus rims and I use conti DWS-06 tires from the RWD GS. So far no problems.
