Luxury vs F Sport
#31
IMHO, the Luxury gives 98% of the performance (Handling, Ride and Braking) of the FSport and many other features. 18-way seats, adaptive lighting, rear controls, power rear shade and more. Other factor would be the styling cues. At least on the 2014 year, don't know if the differences carry forward to 2015.

Well .... I really tried driving in normal and sport mode. Steering feels too loosey goosey. So after it's all said and done, it's always in Sport+ plus mode, Steering feels much tighter, shift points are held longer, much more fun to drive . 2015 GS 350 , Luxury package with 19" wheels. Too bad you have to reset the driving mode every time you restart the car! Two twists of the **** after starting , I'm finding I don't even think about it any more.

Does this apply to the 2016+ model as well? Deciding between 2016 Luxury vs F-sport.
Here you go. The discussion of AVS starts around 8:45. Differences between F Sport and luxury are in there.

@spb3 the basic concept is the same - however, many folks who have owned both the 2013-2015 F-Sport and the 2016+ F-Sport feel the general stiffness and connectedness was dialed back with the 2016 refresh. Some have even said its possible that the F-Sport and Luxury may have the same AVS pattern/logic for 2016. We haven't seen any documentation or presentations that can confirm for 2016+ GS's.
Essentially, you need to drive them back to back to back...drive a luxury pkg GS (which are rare) that has the AVS with Sport+ mode and then drive an F-Sport with AVS to see which you prefer.

AJLex19 thank you for your response. Will read that thread.
Couple follow up questions.
- Does rarity of GS Lux justify high price? I see a well packaged Lux for the price of F-Sport.
- I am not sure I will like the steering wheel with wooden trim. How much hassle is it to swap in a regular leather steering wheel?
- Is there a difference in brake size?
Couple follow up questions.

With the steering wheel, where there is a will there is a way! See here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l-install.html
If you are getting AWD, there is no difference in brake size between trims. F-Sport RWD have larger brakes.
