Wow there is a lot there.

So, I will boil it down to this. It probably wont diminish in value at all seeing as how the car is 5 months old to me and I plan to keep it 10 years. That means it will have gone the majority of its life with me and with an accident on record. So whomever buys it can rest assured that the car works because it has worked for me for X years....

That being said, if I tried to sell it the minute it came back from the body shop (regardless of the quality of repair) it would be worth less.

And that is the basis of your diminished value claim. Ask, it can't hurt, it does make a difference. I bought my 13 GS35 AWD with a ding on its carfax and used it to negotiated down. It had also been on the lot a year, likely due to the carfax. I only own a Lexus today because I got a loan value deal on it and then paid cash.

You know, a diminished value claim is a great idea. I will need to know about how to do this. My car is a 2013 but only has 23k miles on it. This car will be worth significantly less now that it has an accident reported.

I would love to take it to a Lexus Certified Collision Center but there are none in my state. Nearest one is a 7 hour drive away

My 2015 GS350 got rear end on 2016, try to get diminished value, was estimated around 12K, after first try, insurance only offer $1200, then we hire a guy do the quote, then come back with $5000, but still not cover our lose, then we file lawsuit with body injury together, on the end, we got out $12K back plus lost of use for $3K, I am in CA, it is hard to get without fighting
