Replacing two lock actuators
The driver side rear door lock stopped working. The actuator was replaced. The same thing happened today to the driver door. The actuator will be replaced tomorrow. I am glad the 2014 GS 350 F Sport is L Certfied.

I sweat actuators for the longest time and when our 2GS had the issue, the dealer wanted 2k to replace both front doors. I searched on this forum and found a DIY and fixed them for $10, yeah that’s ten dollars. The modules were about $150 each as I found out later. Dealer was charging well over 8 hours of labor. It did in fact take me 8 hours to fix, but that included, breaking open the old modules, replacing the motors and waiting for the glue to dry, before putting it all back together. if I had the modules already, it would have taken 20 minutes per door.
So much of Lexus perception is based on fear tactics it’s not even funny. It’s one of the things that make them depreciate so fast the first couple of years. The GS can be a bit unique since Toyota doesn’t have anything using the same platform, but even that’s a stretch. Never found my Lexus cars to cost a penny more to fix than their Toyota brethren, so long as you stay away from the dealer. I do my own work ONLY if I have time, which is almost never, but these cars aren’t the magic puzzles Lexus would like you to believe. Now, if you were driving a German car....it took two of us over 13 hours to figure out how to remove the headliner from an Audi to fix the moonroof. Putting it back wasn’t any easier. For some reason Lexus dealers wants you to think they are as ridiculous.
The ONLY thing that will cost you a heap of cash over Toyota is if you break interior parts. Those will make you cry for sure and junk yards know it, so no good options available like the 100s of used parts you can find for an Aging Toyota.
Sorry to get off topic, but these cars are really not as bad without a warranty as we are forced to feel. Does sell a ton of new cars and warranties though.
