Default Audio Off when using Ipod

We have a 2013 GS and in the last few month I have been intermittently getting this problem and would be interest to know if anyone else experienced this.

When using the ipod hardwire connected to the USB port, sometimes after turning off the car while listening to the ipod, when I get back in the car, the audio system will just display Audio Off. Pushing in the volume button turns the system back on but it does not recognize the ipod.

I have changed the cord and made sure both end were firmly connected.
I also look at the ipod and it lights up so I know it is working

As I said it happens intermittently, and as I said it happens intermittently but it seems like the audio system loses connection with the ipod

Welcome to iPod hell. I’ve had this issue with my last three cars. Seems less of an issue with newer iPods, but still there.

I have had similar issues with my '14 and my IPhone. Always confusing since with a AUX wire, needs to be on AUX source, otherwise the USB lightning is another source and then there is BT Audio source which won't work if either of the first is the connection. Then you have the APPS option which is BT but only thru the Lexus APP. I think the system gets confused and trying to figure it out on the highway is not something I have tried.

My guesstimate is the system gets confused and so do I.

That's good to know. Will have to ask about the update as well. Probably the issue with our RX too.

I have problems with my iPod Nano just stopping in the middle of a song and disconnecting. The only way to fix it is to pull the wire out and put it back in.
