Default Changed spark plugs at 74000 miles

So unexpectedly i decided to change spark plugs. I was talking to friend how my car seem to run a little crappy. If had a rough idle and it seem there was some power lost. I have joez cat back exhaust, takeda cold air intake and apexi controller. I decided to go with stock plugs at $97 for 6. The most expensive plugs i have seen to date. Before is pics of the plugs. Always used premium gas.

Those plugs don't look bad. A little carbon build up but probably nothing a good high RPM blast wouldn't burn off. I'd clean them and save them in case it doesn't solve your problem. Those plugs should last for 100K miles. New plugs will look like that in a few thousand miles as well.

Those spark plugs look perfectly good. Those plugs have at least another 100,000 miles remaining ... and probably much more.

i don't baby my car. She see a plenty 6k rpms a day. As of right nowthe idle is better and the car engine didn't feel sluggish for my 30 min ride home.

I believe your butt dyno tells you that but without data, it's all subjective. The placebo effect. In my youth, we used to get a lot of cars into the dealership with owners saying they needed tuneups. If the mechanic pulled one plug that had some carbon on it, he'd shoot some carb cleaner down it then let one of us oil change/car wash guys take it around the block with some WOT blasts down the back alley to blow the soot out of it. If that didn't cure it, then we'd tune it up. Way more often than not that fixed it.

It is clear from the pics that none were fouled or misfiring. If they were it would have been a lot rougher and you'd be throwing a CEL. With 3 grounds and an iridium plug, it's not hurt. Did you by chance pull the battery cable while working on it? That probably would have had more impact than the plugs.

No, not necessary but it would cause the stored memory to dissipate and it would relearn the open loop parameters. It's how us poor folks used to clear the check engine light. It might lose your radio settings too. It could also have been a mildly corroded connector that the act of removing and replacing the spark plugs cleaned up.

Changing the spark plugs is really simple and straight forward. Don't know why lexus charging $600. It can be done in 30 mins but it me a hour talking and bsing.

I just changed out my spark plug today, there's a lot of oil on the side of the spark plug. I changed out my diff fluid too and there's a lot of metal shaving in it I would say change that out too. gonna have to wait next week till I can change the tranny fluid missing 2 more gasket.
