Default How to replace side mirror inner housing?

Hey Guys,

Just sold my IS350 and bought a 2014 GS350. The car is perfect, except for the passenger side mirror housing. The inner part of the housing, which is black plastic, is cracked. The replacement part is $129 from Lexus. Does anyone know how to separate the inner housings so I can replace just that inner piece? Searched the forum but didnt find anything specific.

Thanks!!

Just follow the steps in the DIY for changing the puddle lights:

It's pretty easy as the above post indicates, I have done it for a couple of members here in SoCal that didn't feel comfortable doing it themselves. Let me know if you need any help.

Got the parts from Lexus yesterday. I was pleased that it not only included the inner bezel, but also the outer cover already painted as well. Only took me about 10 mins to replace it all.

I've ran into the same issue. How much did you pay for the mirror housing?

Look on ebay, I got an entire new mirror assembly for under 100 - used the part I needed to fix my mirror. Kept the rest of the parts in case something happens again!

I ordered mine from Japan.
http://jp-carparts.com/lexus/partlis...ype=6&fig=8701

For my color, the driver side cost $51.22 and the passenger side cost $48.62 . Shipping was $28.08. $127.92 total for both sides hipped to my door.
Scroll down the page driver side starts with part number 8794A, passenger side starts with 8791A.

You submit an inquiry and they follow up with you within 1-2 days with a payment link. They also accept paypal. Shipping from Japan is cheap too, comparable to what USA dealers charge here for smaller items. Once shipped it only takes 3 days to arrive where I live in VA, DHL is really fast.

For smaller parts like this, it's much cheaper to order from Japan and a lot less than USA dealers.
