Default Brake/rotor replacement - where to buy OEM?

My gs350 AWD lux has about 56k miles on it and i suspect the brakes have never been replaced (I've had it since it had 52k miles or so) as it shakes quite a bit when i quickly brake. I'm guessing I need to do full rotors and pads and it sounds like OEM is the way to go. Looking around a little bit, it seems that there are lots of wildly different prices depending on the website.

Any recommendations on the best place to buy full rotors/pads from? I've seen the full sets on Ebay for as cheap as $420 and as much as $800 when broken up into front/rear so I'm a little confused and want to make sure i buy the right parts at the best price.

Thanks Jonathan! I'll check into that, I think I just need to hunt down the rear rotors (might as well do them all) and I'll be set.

Do you need to replace the rotors, or can you get by having them turned/resurfaced? I had the front rotors turned on my '13 at 40K miles when replacing the pads and that took care of the vibration in the pedal and steering wheel. I paid the dealer to do the brake job and they mentioned the rotors could easily go another 50k miles barring anything unusual happened in the meantime. I replaced with OEM pads as well.

I never replaced the rear pads on the car - they had plenty of life at 56k miles when I sold the car but I bought it CPO'd with 27k miles so the dealer may have replaced before I purchased it.

That is a good point, and no I'm not 100% sure. I just did a bit of research and it sounded like the vibration is caused by bad rotors - resurfacing may be the way to go and given the price of rotors it may be pragmatic to have it checked out first....Thanks!

If you are going to change pads, consider Akebono ProACT pads instead of the OEMs. Night and day difference in dust. Same or better stopping power.

I wish I knew. I replaced front with OEM and the dust seems twice as bad for the last 5k miles. At 54K now.

I agree, Akebono's are the way to go. I haven't replaced on the Lexus, but replaced with the Akebono's on my old BMW and the brake dust was almost nonexistent afterwards. When it comes time to changing the pads on the new car, I'm going this route.

I replaced mine with akebonos as well, way less dust but I will say I lost some stopping power. Initial bite at least.

I went with OE pads too and they dust like crazy but stopping power is awesome.
