Have you two ever tried activating the automatic wipers (by pushing in on the button on the end of the wiper stalk that turns the green light on) while driving when its raining?

You should give it a try - see what happens!
Are you really that obtuse? Did you really think I was trying to use the automatic wiper function with a dry windshield? As I said, the light comes on (in the rain) and then nothing, not until I turn the adjuster on the stalk when the wipers take one swipe only. Otherwise the wipers work fine, slowly or quickly when I move the stalk. Now, instead of being a condescending azz, how about some enlightenment? How (are) they supposed to work?

unfortunately, none of them has the wiper fuse... I tried underneath the brake fluid as well...
Edit:

Nevermind, they should be under the brake res, as pictured above, in the same place as pictured above.

What I think might be your issue is your sensor is not actually picking up the rain... as it is showing that it's "on" but it is not being commanded to wipe automatically.... but it'll wipe when manually commanded.

I feel badly that you aren't able to figure out why your automatic wipers aren't so automatic and it makes you outraged. Please let me know what the problem was when someone not as dense gets it working for you...

@aaracena - Ah, okay - I see that you don't even have automatic rain-sensing wipers! You don't have a 4GS model. You have a 6th Gen ES model hybrid (2017 ES300H).

That 6th Gen ES forum is where you really should be posting to get the help you're looking for.

I did not read everything here because it seems like the comments are degrading the thread. Is this the problem with just it coming on auto sensing water? This detects water and cuts on. They dry out and go bad.

He does. It's just a different stalk in the ES than in the GS. The ES stalk is the same as what I have in my Highlander. You click it down one position to be in auto.

Okay, there is a light that comes on the stalk?

No, no light. Just the stalk position to tell you are in auto.

Yeah, the ES stalk is different than our GS, just click it down to Auto. Same with my 21 ES too, no button and light like the GS one but it does have the auto rain sensing feature and that sensitivity adjustment wheel.

I also found that the auto feature is linked to the vehicle's speed. If ur sitting still, it barely works but if ur moving fast, it wipes more often and can go faster, especially in heavy rain.
