finding a windows 98 machine is proving more difficult than finding the techstream...

There are so many different techstream clones out there. The one I could lay my hands on have got a hack on the actual toyota techstream software. Thus it runs toyota techstream with a "loader" (different exe). Software starts fine. I got the drivers installed as well but the techstream does not communicate with with either my gs or landcruiser. This is on Win7 32bit. From here I will track down a win98 machine as I was told that is where to install it on.. But that is proving rather challenging

it works fine on win7 (better not x64)

If you have cheaper 1.0.4 version, probably you won't see your engine ecu live data. I bought version 2.x.x specially for this. after 2 hours seller has remote to my laptop virtual machine, he made it. it works.

No worries, I am waiting on activation data for this rev. myself. Not sure if my ELM327 BT adapter will work for this app or not. I purched the Carista 1 week for 10 bucks and I am not sure it has the functionality to do the ECU unlock to get this TPMS behind me or not.

Yes, you need a laptop and a physical cable. You can view any data stream the car monitors in real time
