Default Carfax VIN check

Hello,

First time here. Does anyone have access to carfax report? I'm in the process of purchasing a 2015 Lexus GS 350 with under 8K miles.

VIN# JTHBE1BL3FA011065

Thanks advance,

If you're buying from a dealer, ask them to provide one for free. If you're buying the car from a private party seller, ask them for the service records first... the "free" carfax says there's only 5 records for this VIN so you may want to see what records exist before shelling out $40 if nobody can get one for free for you.

IndyIS, thanks for your reply.

I'm scheduled to test drive the vehicle tomorrow. It's own by Carmax and they have provided me with the VehicleCheck history. I'm a bit concerned purchasing a car through Carmax based on my prior experience with them.

I was told, event tho the carfax isn't foolproof, it does provide more vehicle history.

Thanks,

You can also check here to see if it was serviced at a Lexus dealership

Don't waste your time on carfax, use Autocheck. They get all the auction inspections and carfax doesn't. As someone mentioned, look up the dealer service records. No known accidents on the gray car, it formally was a leased vehicle. It was at auction in Calf in late June 2018 and lived it's life in Calf. Good luck with the vehicle.

I would highly recommend that the OP really (unquestionably) inspect everything on, in, with and about the car thoroughly (carefully & exhaustively) if it was an auctioned vehicle.

I tried that site on a car that had a accident reported on carfax and it reported no car accidents so I don't know how good it is, would be nice to have a site you don't have to pay for just to check its accident record.

Good to know, I had heard it mentioned on one youtube video a while back, I didn't know how accurate it was.
