Default lexus battery

so my battery died and I tested the battery at work and it failed the load test and say replace battery. I was wondering do the dealership change it for free if it got replaced already and now it died again 3 years later. I think I saw on the battery it say 84 month warranty. is that mean I can bring it back and get a new battery for free or I have to pay?

Manufactured to Lexus standards for quality and performance, these batteries are the only batteries authorized for original equipment (OE) warranty replacement. They come with a 24-month free replacement warranty and prorated for the balance of the 84-month warranty period.

Since the battery is 3 years old it will not be replaced free of charge, but you should only have to pay the prorated balance.

In the future you should have your battery load tested once a year after the battery becomes two years old. A dead or jumped battery can cause a lot of glitches in some of the electronics(e.g. A/C, automatic parking brake, etc.), which is expensive to have diagnosed and resolved. An annual load test of your battery can be done at no-charge by a NTB (National Tire & Battery) store employee in their parking lot in about 5 minutes.

I have a 2013 with the original battery, still going strong. Plan on load testing before winter. Then again I have the hybrid, no idea if the hybrid system puts less strain on the battery. Also my battery is in the trunk.

Much less. It is only used to power up aux systems.

Power hungry jobs (main killers), like starter job (is started by secondary electric motor), aircon (compressor is electric in a hybrid), etc. are fed by a hybrid battery.

I just got my battery changed too (lasted a little over 5 years). My local mechanic usually uses Interstate (as with all our previous cars), but stopped this time and installed an AC Delco Professional series one. Not sure if this is true, but my mechanic mentioned he noticed a lot of premature failures with Interstate batteries ever since they started being produced in Mexico.
