Default For those with RS-R Down

From what I gathered on this forum for those who used regular RSR Down to lower their ride that it does NOT require a camber kit after getting it lowered? The reason why I’m asking is I recently lowered my ‘18 F Sport and after about a month waiting for the springs to settle, I went to get it aligned but was told by the tech that it can’t be aligned (set toe-in) because it needs a camber kit especially the rear. Have you had this issue with your regular RS-R down? One important note, the alignment place I visited is using ‘old school’ way of alignment without using a computer to provide alignment settings or does that even matter? Should I go to an alignment place where they use all that computer mumbo-jumbo stuff to set toe-in? Have you had this issue with alignment using regular RS-R down? Thank you!

I have swift springs, which offer about the same drop as the downs. I’ve had no issues getting it aligned to within specs. I go to Firestone to do it (bought the lifetime alignment)

Thank you. I will check with Firestone. Did Firestone charged you more for alignment since car is lowered? And how often can you get it aligned with their lifetime alignment? Some alignment shops here in San Diego, Ca do charge more if car is lowered.

I’ve had the RS-R down springs on my 4GS AWD for about a year, and I just purchased the SPC adjustable camber control arms for my GS. I can visually see the camber on my rear rims. The downs aren’t as bad at wearing the inner tread as the super downs, but over time they do start to wear some. P.S. I would go to a alignment shop with the state of the art Hunter machine.

I have to do more research as I can’t find camber kits for model year ‘18 or possibly just do lifetime alignment warranty that other members suggested. Did you have to do all 4 or just rear? Thanks!

check with RR Racing or SPC the manufacturer, but I’m pretty sure these work on your 4GS. Suspension has been carry over since 2013 MY.

They dont charge me any extra for having a lowered car. Ive brought it in about 3 times for an alignment now (in about 1.5 years) for various reasons and they never had any issues with me. The tech told me the only time having a lowered car would be an issue is if it was too low to get on their ramps. FYI I paid about $100 for the lifetime alignment

What kind of tire life are you getting out of the RSR Downs? (on what tire wear rating?)
