It's apparent he didn't know about the M-mode rev matched downshifts.

2016+ looks more like how the original LF-GH prototype looked. I've had both, 2016+ is better to me. YMMV. ATKOT. IMO.

I think pre and post facelift models look GOOD...

I have a 2013 and I love the front, both base and F-Sport. I also love the front of the 2016+, F-Sport grill over the base grill though. I would have both if I could.

I would be happy in either in a heartbeat, but I like the 13-2015 front better.

Actually as a generality I like all the more conservative GS fronts better.

We had perfectly good front ends on the 3rd gen GSes, like the GS 460's front, etc. but a bunch of industry dbags came along and were like "bweah its boring" or "bweah its too conservative" wah wah wah, etc. These idiots guilted Lexus into messing with the styling of the car. Then they go and do that, because this herd of auto apparatchik types and snooty car reporters, asked them to, then they have the audacity to whine about the result.

Seems like the only knock on the car is "its hideous" which is ultra subjective. For years I didn't like any Land Rover SUVs because I thought they just looked like a square box, with boxy headlights, boxy tail lamps, and rectangular shapes everywhere...but I finally drove one and can appreciate it more, overlooking some of my subjective thoughts on its looks.

Folks need to drive the GS to really appreciate it. On top of that, the GS is a standout in terms of styling in its segment - whether that's good or bad is, again, purely subjective.

I think the face-lifted model looks much better with the F-sport grille. On the non-F models, the horizontal lines and the new headlights makes the front end a little too busy looking.

Disclaimer: I'm clearly biased towards pre-facelift F-sport for obvious reasons

I usually really enjoy his reviews as they're thorough in ways beyond what most car reviewers show. That said, I would have really loved to see him do his normal full length review on an F-Sport including taking it into the shop with his buddy Scott, putting it on a lift, etc. Not a fan of the guy he brought along this time, either. Overall bummer of a review.

I agree with you 100% Mark usually does the best most honest and comprehensive reviews on automobiles. This one was way too short and I hated he didn’t do a segment on the underbody like usual. The co-driver/passenger didn’t bring much of anything to the table, but negativity.

Regarding styling I think all 4GS look pretty good. I like elements from the 4GS.1 and 4GS.2. I love the F sport bumper on the 4GS.1 more, I just wish they would’ve painted the center bumper cover anthracite to match the grille inserts. I love the Multibeam LED headlights option from both generations, but the base headlights look better on the 4GS.1. The interior door handles are a big improvement on the later 4GS.2. What bothers me the most about the 4GS.2 is the F sport bumper have the piano black pockets in the lower section that put enfaces on the fake air inlets, I wish those sections were body color instead. They are both reminiscent of the LF-Gh concept.

It wasn't designed to be comprehensive, hence short review.

SG / Mark is by far the best car reviewer on youtube. He covers everything, and isn't afraid to speak his mind. The lame retardo commenters on youtube have aneurysms over the negativity, etc, but there's a lot of really good reasons some stuff is negative. It makes it interesting to watch. I even watch some of the reviews on cars I usually have no interest in.... that's how good the channel and content is.
