Default Front license plate bracket question

Hello,

I'm currently shopping for a 2015 GS 350 F Sport. I live in AZ and we don't use front license plates here. Most cars I find online have the front plate bracket. Can anyone tell me if removing the bracket leaves exposed holes in the bumper, or rub marks from the bracket? I haven't been able to inspect one in person. Thanks

Yes, they do. Most easiest would be to just cover that area with vinyl wrap. But I know others have done their own thing like getting bumper plugs.

Yes, mine has holes drilled and if removed, there are scuffed places on the bumper. I just put a diver flag plate on it to cover it up.

It's just the worst that Lexus doesn't make model-specific brackets to avoid defacing a bumper.
Honestly, how can they conclude that drilling holes in the bumper is acceptable?

My current GS came from Minnesota, and the front bumper has four superfluous holes: two for the bracket, and two from the license plate bolts that extended through the bracket and into the bumper.

If the lag screws that hold the license plate bracket on the bumper are over tighten , you find it blows out the plastic on the outside... Like mine is right now. . Since California requires front license plates displayed on cars.... it all put back for now.

My front bumper was never drilled. I just zipped tied the licence plate mount to the lower grill, looks clean, and never had an issue.

Mine has the holes drilled for the plate bracket and dents where the plate bolts that were too long pushed into the bumper.

I painted plastic plugs to cover the holes, and that looks okay.
The dents would require some careful repair, so I live with them; no one notices except me...every time.

It's just awful that the Lexus dealer answer to front plates is drilling holes instead of some proper alternative that does not permanently deface the car.

I've seen bumper plugs that mimics the look of parking sensors.

Buy an AZ car. Lexus of Tucson has several pre-owned GS350's. Also, if you can buy a car from an individual, as opposed to a dealer, there is no AZ sales tax.

You will have 2 screw holes in the front bumper. Honestly if they already screwed the front license plate bracket in I think it would look better to run a front licence plate than to try and cover the holes with plugs.

You are missing the point. The OP lives in AZ. No front license plate is required in AZ. Most AZ cars will not have holes drilled in the front bumper. Mine doesn't.

I am making sense. You are not. Maybe the air pollution in New Jersey?
