I got the akebono too it have less brake dust but still squeal when its cold. im trying to change other brand rotor and diff brand pads next time when my pads is finish.
If I buy a new pair of Akebono's now can I just plug and play with them? Or do I have to either shave my rotors or get a new set of rotors?
You can just take out the old ones and slap the new set in. I see lots of people still believe in bedding-in the new pads, and I did follow that regimen as well, but it's been several years since I've practiced that and in all honesty, I've never noticed any difference in performance or pad life. Hence the reason I stopped bedding-in new pads.

+1 on the Akebonos. Great performance, virtually no dust.
But do they stop your car as well (in the shortest distance) as the OE brake pads? Is the cold bite as good as the OE brake pads?
Have not done any 60-0 stops measuring the actual distance but as far as I can tell they stop just like the OEM pads do. I dint think anyone here has measured stopping distance...
