Default Poor Satellite Signal

Hi all, just curious if there is anything I can do with my weak Sat signal while listening to XM radio? My older ES as better signal in the same spots than my new car.

I had a issue with my old Sirius receiver when I put it in my newer GS for about a week but it happened after it got perfect reception for three weeks before in the GS. Not sure what happened but on the way home during a long drive the receiver kept saying "No Antenna" and I would not get anything for a few hours, then off and on it would say that for about a week especially when I moved it or changed stations. I thought I was just going to have to get a new receiver or have them change the signal to the cars XM reciever but it got a update and seems fine now. I don't know what that was, if it was the update that solved it or the wires were kinked but it never happened before. It is a really old receiver model from about 12 years ago but it still has worked perfectly so I have no replaced it.
