Price for a used GS currently

I think that there will be some good deals when the 2016 and newer models leases start to come in. Lexus had an artificially high residual values on the 2015 models but lowered them after that. right now a 2018 f sport model has a RV of around 47% (+/- 1% don't remember exactly) which implies that at the end of its lease it will be worth less than 30K assuming 60K MSRP. Just for comparison my 2015 GS was around 52K and my current buyout option at the end of my lease is around 30K.

Hi
I’m a new member here. About a month ago I got the following:
2015 Lexus GS 350 F Sport, CPO, White exterior, Cabernet Interior
Dealer: Newport Lexus
Options: Illuminated Door Sill, Trunk mat cargo net..etc (a base F-sport)
OD: 30,301
Price: $31,190 (no haggle price)
Price Out the door: $34,149 with all the tax, title, fees
Financed 5 year at 3.9% (this was in September)
The car was a lease and has complete service history at Lexus.
I also reviewed the work that was perform on the car to get it CPO (Dealer cost $3579 to get the car CPO)
: New paint on the front bumper, New keys, 4 new tires Michelin Pilot Sport and other miscl services. The brakes were at 8mm (8 out of 10mm left)
I was able to see this information up front and is also available online on their website.
This car was sitting in the showroom.
I also asked for F-Sport keys cover, correct all chips I found visually (paint filler), wax and buff out all blemish I saw, and repaint one of the wheel (not to my satisfaction but was better than the badly stained looking original)

I think the average CPO increases the price by around $3k to $4k. But what you usually get for that premium is oftentimes new brakes/rotors, new tires, new battery, alignment, engine air filter, cabin air filter, engine oil and filter change, brake flush, assurance of having a Lexus branded windshield - plus added attention to engine compartment, exterior and interior cleanup, detail touch-up. And of course, you also get the CPO warranty. Add the value of all you get with a typical CPO and I think it is worth it.

Most of the items you’ve listed are cheap to do and/ or are part of the regular maintenance. For example if you buy a 2015 GS with 32K miles it will have likely had its 30K miles service. Lexus is a very reliable vehicle so you may not get much ROI for your 4K unless you get a higher mileage vehicle. I am targeting something with less than 30K miles. By the way I looked at recent auction data and it looks like the 2015 sells for around 20-23K at the auction depending on condition.
$20k for a 2015 GS 350 at auction will get you a car that Lexus dealers don't want on their lot.

not necessarily bad. for example my local dealer doesn’t want mine because the payoff is around 30K and he can’t sell it for more. However the car is in absolutely impeccable condition. I would love to follow it to the auction and buy it there for 23K.
