iPod keeps starting over
I have recently encountered a reoccurring problem that is getting pretty annoying and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I currently have a 6GEN iPod touch with a couple hundred songs on it spread across several playlist. If switch sources away from the iPod for more than 20 min (I have timed it out a few times) to listen to another source, when I switchback to the iPod it starts from the first song on the iPod alphabetically no matter where I left off.
So when I 500 songs deep into a play list and switch to listen to XM for a while, when I switch back It defaults to whatever song starts with an “A” and I have to fight with the “mouse” to get back to where I was. I asked the dealer for help and they suggested that I switch using the steering wheel mounted controls. That didn’t help either. I am connected via USB and the only time I take the IPod out is to add another playlist here and there. Anyone have any ideas???

I have a previous generation 180GB iPod with almost 23K songs, 125 GB used with multiple playlists and I can leave it plugged in, switch sources and go back to it a few days later and it will pick up where it left off, like in a playlist song. Very rarely, it will need to be reset and when it starts, it goes back to the same song, probably the first song that was copied to it. Not in alphabetical order.
Perhaps it has something to do with the model if iPod...
