Default 2013 GS oil change question

About to hit 40K miles. Bought this car used from car max and doing my first oil change.
i will be going with mobil 1 0w-20 and 04152-YZZA3 filter.

My question is, I have read this car takes 7 quarts (6.something) total. I'm assuming 5quarts won't cut it right. As far as I know they sell in 5 quarts containers. Do I just buy 2 containers and save the rest for next oil change? If yes, anything to be careful with like keeping in room temperature or something so the oil won't go bad? In the past I've never had to use more than 5 quarts for oil changes, which is why I'm concerned.

Also, if I'm putting close to 20K miles a year, how long should I go between oil changes? Ive read most saying 10K miles but want to make sure.

Thank you!

7 quarts. You can store for long time.
10k miles per oil change or one year, whatever comes first.

Thanks for the reply. Can I keep it in my garage? Does it make a difference if the weather gets really hot or cold? Thanks again

keeping oil stored in your garage is fine. The temperature fluctuation won’t affect your stored motor oil.

Summer, winter, doesn't matter for engine oil, especially synthetic.
