How much did you pay???

i got mine for $38k. Lexus CPO 2015 GS350 FSport AWD Crafted Line with 9K miles, almost pristine shape. Tack on a few thousand in taxes, fees, registration and I was closer to 40k. Then paid for 6yr platinum warranty which was 2K more and 1.6K for 6yr windshield/tires/rim/keyfob warranty. That put me at 44k. Then I bought the APR down to 0% and my total came to 59K. Super expensive buy compared to everyone else on these forums but that is what an APR buy down does for people that don't deal with interest. They offered me 3.9% for 6 years, mehhhh. Still would have been cheaper but whatever. I think 35k for you is reasonable as long as it has low mileage and is well taken care of.

I paid 28,850 pre tax in CT for a 2015 GS F Sport with 35k miles on it 3 weeks ago. Dealer said it is certifiable for $1995 more but I decided to skip that option. Car is pristine and has all the features I needed.

January 2017? Sounds like you got a great deal.
January 2018? Sound like you got a pretty good deal for an immaculate car.
IMO, nobody should ever overpay for a car. Overpaying for a car means you paid more for the car than you were willing to. Every car buyer should have a number in mind that dictates what a particular car's value is to them and how much they would be willing to pay, which should be based on market research plus individual tolerances for "paying to play" if you will. If you go over that, you over paid. If not, congrats - you paid what you expected to, were willing to for the car you wanted, or less.

You are right, it is 2018. My mistake. You make a great point about each person's willingness to spend a certain amount on the exact vehicle they want. It seems that my tolerance for a Lexus is considerably higher than for, say an Acura. The car has been good to us so far this year, the wife loves it (it's her car), and the dealership has taken care of the last 4 maintenances for us as part of the deal. Overall value, I guess I got a fair-to-good deal, because of the condition I got it in, which is 95% of brand new car quality.

I ran a scenario with 0 money down 3.9%:
Then $5k down 3.9%:
"Then paid for 6yr platinum warranty which was 2K more and 1.6K for 6yr windshield/tires/rim/keyfob warranty"
$1.6k would get you a really nice set of aftermarket rims, buy keyfob warranty? Also doesn't your insurance cover the windshield?
