Default Need help, Check engine light is on and no Cruise control.....

Two days ago after getting off work. I started my 2014 Lexus GS 350 RWD luxury package, the check engine light lit up and stayed lit and during the drive home my cruise control refuse to work. Pressing the on/off button of the cruise control stalk will not toggle the cruise light on the instrument cluster. And therefore i cannot set cruising speed. Everything else works fine. What gives?

The first thought is the speed sensor, however it could be any one of a dozen things. Some CEL codes will disable the cruise control even though what caused the CEL is not directly associated with the cruise control.

That's like asking us to find a needle in a haystack. No one can help you. Plug in an OBD reader and read what the codes say. If not, get it checked out at the dealership.

O'Reilly's or AutoZone will read the code for you at no charge. If you want to have the code deleted to see if it will come back most places (like O'Reilly's) will require that you [personally] hit the delete button on the OBD reader, because they are not supposed to do it.

I guess i will take my car to Autozone and have them take a look. This car is amazing so far. I owned it since 2014 and put on 160,000 miles on it with no problems. I am surprised the shocks are still working on this car but maby its because i do 80% of my driving on the Interstste highways. If this is the only problem it will be the most reliable car i ever owned. Even my 2006 Lexus LS430 shocks died on me at around 120k miles.
