Default High pitched whining sound when heater is on

I picked up my 2018 GS350 F-Sport back in April, so I hadn't had a chance to use the heater until just recently now that its consistently 20-30ºF in the mornings. I have noticed a very high pitched whining noise when I have the heat on, but if I switch to A/C it goes away. I can hear it even if I have music on (although at a quite volume) and its definitely prevalent if I turn the speakers off completely. This happens from the moment the heater kicks in, continuing even after a 30+ minute commute. Any suggestions what I can do?

I've never noticed that. The only kind of whine noise I've heard from my car is when I turn on the ventilated seats. Your car is practically brand new, so why not just go ask the dealer?

OP - Are all of your supply vents completely open? Closing or partially closing vents increases the air pressure to the open vents while at the same time increasing the static and velocity pressure, and any vents that are closed-off are likely to be subject to making increased noise if the vent is not completely closed and totally sealed-off.

Oh yeah, good call bclexus. Having some of the vents closed can change the noise from those vents or other vents pretty significantly. Didn't realize that myself until only recently, after owning the car since 2015. Definitely experiment with this if any of your vents are closed, OP.
