I don't think I could keep the car if it was fixed. They just never seem to be the same after a major collision. I always dread the thought of that happening to one of my cars. I feel I'm always in a demolition derby whenever I drive mine thanks to the inception of the cell phone.

99 percent sure the insurance will say that's a total loss, anything where that requires that intensive of work to that part of the frame is very expensive. However, it is still 100% salvageable if taken to the right body shop.

On another note, you said that you were ok, but with such a big hit, make sure you get yourself checked out. Aches and pains really intensify on the 3rd day. No whiplash symptoms?

What about airbags, any deploy? Any other safety systems engaged?

What about the other party?

Thank you everyone for all the helpful responses! I’m still waiting for the insurance to turn the report in they said it’d take 3-5 business days and with it happening on a Saturday night those days started today lol. My neck and shoulder is very sore and I have Head aches here and there but it should all wear off. Airbags did not deploy. The driver at fault was driving a Dodge Avenger didn’t do much damage to his car not sure how he’s feeling though.

You should have seeked medical attention after the accident to prove whiplash to file a personal injury claim. You might still be able to do so, not sure of the whole process.

Ditto. Your pain may disappear and you might never file a claim, but it’s a good idea to see a doctor today or ASAP, to preserve your right to a claim in the event you fneed to in the future. I did so on the advice of a lawyer in my workplace, even though I was surre the aches and pain would go away.

i’m lucky, no pain or after effects after the first week or so.

If if you wait, you don’t want the other side to claim that your pain was a result from something else, or your failure to seek medical assistance. Where money is involved, insurance companies’ lawyers can get awfully creative.

Heed my warnings that you MUST see doctor and assume that you're hurt despite not feeling much pain currently. Also get a personal injury lawyer and get ready for a long process in getting medical / lost wages claims.

I've had multiple disc herniations and bulges that DID NOT hurt until weeks, months later. In all it took 2.5 years in reaching a cash settlement.

If the airbags had deployed, with that much rear damage, definitely totaled. However, since no airbags, it's going to be close. I'm going to bet that they will total it out. Sorry for your luck. Hope you start to feel better. Headaches suck.

If totalled, all the more reason to replace the car. If it happened to mine I'd get another GS in a heartbeat.

You can check copart auctions for similarly damaged GS350's, then you know what it takes to get it totalled out by insurance.

Here's a few with similar damage:

How long have you had it?

I had my 2015 for 2 1/2 months before it got totaled at the end of August, drove it for a whopping 1,600 miles. 27K on the odometer. Man was I bummed...

I was all set for another 2015, but at the last minute jumped at a new 2018 F Sport. That GS did such a great job protecting me and my son in a high speed crash, that I just had to get another.
It's been almost 3 months and 2,500 miles... I could not be happier ...well, unless I had an LS 460... LOL.
