Best Air Filter
Looking to swap out the stock air filter on my 2017 F Sport. What would you all recommend? Also, just to confirm, this won't void the warranty if I go non-oem right?

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a filter that does a substantially better job than the stock unit in the F Sport. It's a free flow filter and is washable, so no need to replace. Save your money!
But using a non-OEM will not void your warranty... that is unless you mess up REALLY REALLY badly.

If you have an aftermarket air intake system with filter I wouldn't totally discount the idea that Lexus wouldn't balk if diagnosis was required pertaining to that part, or repairs are needed because of it. Just replacing the engine air filter alone with an aftermarket air filter in the OE housing shouldn't be a problem.

Best Air Filter: Stock OEM Lexus
The hi flow aftermarket and reusable ones, have negligible HP gains, but don't actually filter the air as well as the stock one because they are less restrictive. I would trust the company that designed the engine to have designed an air filter with the most optimal balance of performance and filtration.

About any filter will work unless you are under special circumstances, like heavy dust or constant high RPM. With modern fuel injection with any headroom built in, and they all have some excess capacity, you will never run rich or lean.
Personally, for my old cars (nearly 50 years old) I use K&N because they are carb'd and I don't have to fool with them very often. On my modern, daily drivers, I use the cheapest air filter that Advance Auto sells because at 3,000 RPM there is literally no power/performance difference. The intake pipe after the filter is clean and no bugs or dust build up between filters. If I lived on a gravel or dirt road, I'd probably put something slightly better in them.

Any quality air filter will work. Wix, Lexus and Denso are a few examples. They are only about $25 on Amazon, I believe. I am not a fan of the reusable air filters, but I seriously doubt Lexus engineers would compromise these cars if they were harmful. The engine air filter is very important as it is a prime way dirt can enter.
FYI, I will replace the reusable filter in mine one of these days, but that's just me.

OEM Lexus/Toyota filter - i've used aftermarket brands as well but the price difference is negligible.

Stay with stock. There are a number of videos on YouTube where people have tested stock vs. aftermarket, including those fancy "cold-air" intake systems. In almost every instance, there was no appreciable difference. In the worse case, the aftermarket ones actually lost power.
The one thing that's different with the aftermarket systems is if you wanted "noise." You'll get noise for sure. But that's subjective. Some might upgrade their intake systems just for this alone.

We can do an air intake system instead of the filter which you should see improvements.

If I can wedge in an air filter question.. I'm a recent owner of a 2013 GS350. I bought an oem air filter and when inspecting the one that was in the car it had a foam pre-filter glued to it that the replacement didn't have. Who would've put this on do you think?
